Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Yummy Dish Diary handles information when you use our app, website, and related services in the United States.
Effective date: May 14, 2026
Who we are
Yummy Dish Diary is a personal food diary app that helps you save meals, photos, ratings, restaurant details, notes, and food memories. This Privacy Policy applies to the Yummy Dish Diary mobile app, this marketing website, and related support or online services.
This app is designed for personal food journaling. It is not a medical, nutrition, or healthcare service, even though meal notes may reveal dietary preferences or other sensitive details you choose to save.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use the app, we may collect:
- Account details, such as your email address, sign-in provider, display name, profile photo, username, and authentication identifiers.
- Food diary content you create, such as meal names, ratings, notes, tags, restaurant names, restaurant details, photos, recipe links, favorites, and timestamps.
- Social feature content, if available and used, such as public recommendations, follower or following relationships, profile visibility settings, and messages or reports you submit to us.
- App settings and preferences, including privacy settings and notification choices.
- Device, diagnostics, and usage information, such as app version, device type, crash logs, performance data, approximate region, and feature interactions.
- Support information you send us, including your contact details and the contents of your request.
We do not intentionally collect payment card details. If paid App Store features are offered, Apple processes payment information under Apple’s own terms and privacy practices.
Photos, restaurants, and location
You may choose to add meal photos, restaurant names, addresses, map details, or other location-related notes. We use that information to show and organize your diary, favorites, restaurant history, and related app features.
Yummy Dish Diary is not designed to track your precise location in the background. If a feature requests device location access, your device should provide a permission prompt and you can change that permission in system settings.
How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, sync, back up, and personalize your food diary.
- Authenticate your account and protect your data.
- Display app features such as search, favorites, restaurant grouping, recommendations, and profile controls.
- Send service messages, support replies, and notifications you request or allow.
- Maintain safety, prevent abuse, debug errors, and improve performance.
- Analyze aggregate app usage so we can improve the product.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We may share information in these limited cases:
- With service providers that help us host, store, secure, analyze, and operate the app, such as Firebase and Google Cloud services.
- With Apple or other platform providers when needed for app distribution, sign-in, notifications, purchases, or device-level services.
- With other users only when you choose to make content public, share a recommendation, follow someone, or use a social feature.
- For legal, safety, security, or fraud-prevention reasons when we believe disclosure is necessary.
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections for user information.
Your choices and rights
You can update or delete certain profile, diary, photo, and settings information inside the app when those controls are available. You can also contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or export of personal information.
Depending on your state, including California and other US state privacy laws, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, obtain a copy of, or appeal decisions about your personal information. If you delete your account or request deletion, we will delete or de-identify personal information unless we need to keep it for legitimate legal, safety, or operational reasons.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No internet or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
Yummy Dish Diary is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Third-party links and services
The app or website may link to restaurants, recipe pages, app stores, maps, sign-in providers, or other third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this Privacy Policy.
